    What is Piles?

Piles or Bavasir (in Hindi), a.k.a. hemorrhoids, are enlarged blood vessels that develops around the anus or lower rectum. These formations are of internal and external.

Internal hemorrhoids form in the lining of the anus and in the lower rectum. Painless rectal bleeding or prolapse of anal tissue is often associated with symptomatic internal hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids are classified by their degree of prolapse, which helps determine treatment and management

External Piles are swellings that develop further down your anal canal, closer to your anus. They can be very painful, especially if they have a blood clot in them. The pain is usually constant and can be severe. Mostly they are small, round, discoloured lumps, one can feel them on anus or hanging down from the rectum. Piles are very common in both men and women. Studies show that almost 50 percent of population are susceptible to developing hemorrhoids by age 50.
